WELCOME TO SCAN HOBART! The website for scanning enthusiasts. I'm sure we have all wondered at some point in our life what people are saying on their walkie talkies, nearly every company seems to them. If you have ever caught a Metro bus you can not ignore the fact you hear people transmitting on a radio to 'base'. UHF/VHF scanning is a hobby some people get into, it's fun and always interesting to hear first hand about accidents and situations. If you hear of such an accident and are driving you can make a detour to avoid any traffic jams. You can listen to numerous services, from the fire brigade, buses, security, air traffic control, cabs, councils and much more.

Scanning Tasmania is a great website, especially the forum!

So how do the two partner websites work? Scan Hobart will focus on frequencies for the Hobart area as well as Southern Tasmania, where Scanning Tasmania will focus on frequencies for Northern Tasmania including Launceston.
