UHF CITIZEN'S BAND

Only a few years ago the UHF CB band was active and alive most the time, but in the last year (2007) there has been a decline in its usage, and now in 2008 it still active but yet not as popular as before. You will often find Channel 1 to be the most active channel, it also is the repeater channel. Channel 5 is emergency/distress and Channel 40 is the 'truckie' channel. Every Sunday at 9AM on Channel 15 is the REAST/VK7 Regional and National News broadcast, with up-to-date news on the UHF CB Band, meetings, etc.

Recently due to abuse from the Bridgewater/Gagebrook area the channel 1 repeater has been switched off.

*Please note you will easily hear obscene/offensive language on the UHF CB band. The 27Mhz CB frequencies are not used anymore in Australia. But saying that you can still on the odd occasion hear people, especially when in Rural/regional areas of the State.
